I was talking with one of my mummy clients from the No More Excuses programme the other day and asked her what was one of the thing she struggled with the most before starting the programme and her answer came back with ‘snacking too much and eating late at night’ and when I dug a little deeper with, “why do you eat at night? are you hungry or just ‘snacky?” It turned up that ….” I usually skip breakfast as I don’t have time and don’t know what to eat other than cereal or toast and then I don’t eat to lunch time which is rushed and then eat a ginormous dinner and keep snacking as I don’t feel full”
And the more I asked these questions to my other mummy clients the more and more it became aware that breakfast is not a meal most mummies do well.
And guess what, just like your mum used to tell you, “it’s the most important meal of the day!”
Now, I didn’t always do breakfast right. Often getting hungry at my desk around 11am and then turning to muffins or toast to feel full.
It was only when I started to get breakfast right, that everything fell into place and the fat started to drip off…literally!
What is the ‘right way’ to do breakfast? Well if you watched any of my recent Google Hangouts you will have heard me tell you that protein is so essential in the first meal of the day and ideally so are your leafy greens….
