I have been talking to Wellpreneurs this week about branding and identity.
What I love about working with Wellpreneurs is that I can go deeper with this conversation than the typical entrepreneur. Why? Because often as Wellpreneurs we are driven by a deep rooted sense of passion and our purpose runs even deeper.
But the issue arises from attempting to relay this mission, this passion, into our marketing, our communication to the world and our ‘image’.
Firstly, it is important to understand what branding means and how it is an effective tool to help to grow our businesses but actually more importantly is to understand our own emotional connection to it so it can motivate us, drivs us and helps us to realise our dreams.
Let me ask you, are you proud of your brand? Your business image? What you have created?
Do your clients understand what it is that your brand stands for? What your passion is?
Let me teach you about branding….
Branding is not just some pretty colours, fonts and design to slap on a flyer.
Branding, in its rawest and truest form is IDENTITY and TRUST. You see they used brands on cattle to distinguish which animals belonged to who. And with that brand came recongition and a belonging to a ranch or farm and often this farms or ranches were well known families and stood for something in their communities.
This brand then translated into other products and services but the concept is the same: IDENTITY and TRUST through recognition.
In today’s world and for us Wellpreneurs, our Brand can be a powerful tool to communicate and connect with our clients and to begin the process of creating our own tribe or community who trust and acknowledge it.
The problems arise when we have multiple interests, income streams, certifications, passions and services… how do they all connect? how do we present ourselves and our information to make this clear for our clients to engage with us? how do we get across our passion and motivations for serving and helping others?
The answer lies in a 4 step process:
1. A Clear purpose and mission for our business
2. Deciding on the name and images that represent that
3. Choosing colours and fonts that support this message
4. Creating and delivering messages via social media and email that weave the message with the images and ensuring you are consistent in its delivery and your messages stay on brand.
This is just one of the many processes we go through in the Wellpreneur Academy Business Kickstarter Programme and something I have been covering recently in my Periscopes.
